Admission and Graduate Expenses
The admission to the Graduate Program does not require the payment of tuition or any other fees. The School is organized in semesters, the first one starting in March and the second in August. Admission to the PGQu graduate program takes place one month before the beginning of the semesters. To be accepted as a graduate student, the candidates must be approved in written tests of chemistry and English language. Instructions on how to apply to the Program and details of the admission tests are posted in the Program website ( https://pgqu.iq.ufrj.br/ ) at least one month before the admission tests are scheduled to take place.
A variable number of scholarships is available each semester and they are awarded to the students according to their grades in the test of chemistry.
Foreing students of non-Portuguese speaking countries admitted to the Program are required to show proficiency in Portuguese before completing the graduate program and presenting the dissertation. The Office of the Graduate Program will provide information on how this proficiency can be achieved.
